EL CONTRATO
lfaro-Abogados has advised SINOPEC oil company from China in the largest M&A transaction of 2010 in Argentina:
The acquisition of Occidental Petroleum 23 concessions of exploration of oil and gas in Argentina for $2,45 billion dollars.
Alfaro-Abogados (www.alfarolaw.com) M&A partners Carlos Alfaro and Sebastian Rodrigo and antitrust lawyer Pedro Mazer, energy partner Horacio Randle, business transaction lawyer Gerardo Persic, litigation liabilities lawyer Hernán Papa, corporate associate Gisele Geuna and labor counsel Paola Trigiani are advising Beijing-based Sinopec on the deal in Argentina. The team, which worked closely with US firm Andrews & Kurth in advising Sinopec, was based out of Buenos Aires and New York offices.
The acquisition follows CNOOC investments in the Argentinean oil company of Pan American Energy and shows increasing confidence in the strength of the Argentine economy.
